Poetry Contest

Calling all of 19401! April is the month of poetry, a celebration that was introduced in 1966  by the Academy of American poets and the celebration still lives on till this day. For centuries poetry has been a way to reach an audience on subjects that are not always touched upon such as global warming and politics. It is a way to share a laugh or create a thought.

In honor of National Poetry Month, Happening (iN)TOWN will be holding a poetry contest. Poetry submissions will be accepted from April 2nd – April 22nd. The Winners will be announced Tuesday the 23rd.

Poem selections will be judged based on your style, imagery, and wordplay, and overall dopeness. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Winners will be selected & the chosen contestants will have their poems published on our website: happeningintown.com

First place winner will also win an exclusive interview to be featured on website along with a photo & video of your poetry.
