With over 24,000 working adults identifying as hairdressers, hairstylists or cosmetologists in 2019*; Pennsylvania finds itself in the top five states with the highest employment in this profession. Despite the abundance of hair care professionals in Pennsylvania only one promises to deliver success, beauty and blessings.
On Sunday, September 6, Founder and Licensed Beautician Lisa Denby celebrated the Grand Opening of Beautique Room By Lisa, Norristown’s newest luxe hair salon.
“As a young entrepreneur to have beat the odds to become a self-sustained CEO is hard. Opening two salons in only the first two years of business is unheard of. I am happy to be able to service a community that supports me to even foster that kind of growth so soon,” said Denby.
The new location at 430 East Main Street is less than a two minute drive from the previous location, and offers the opportunity for the Beautique Room to further expand its presence as a community staple for beauty care in the heart of Norristown.
The 760-square-foot salon will be nothing short of a one-stop-beauty-shop and the convenience of the experience will begin before you even sit down to get your hair done.
Don’t worry about running late for your next appointment, because the ‘by appointment only’ salon guarantees that a space will always be waiting for you in the parking lot.
When you enter the Beautique Room what you will see first is the black beauty supply retail counter with quality virgin hair weave from the Beautique Hair Collection, combs, clips and other hair care products for sale.
The salon will also feature a make-up station and private room for eyelash extensions, eyebrow tinting, waxing, microblading and facial services. The Beautique Room will continue to provide its traditional services like: hair extensions, natural hair, braids, color, cuts, lash extensions and facials serving women, men, and kids of all ages.
“We are not your average salon,” said Denby as she explained her intention of fostering a professional yet calm environment with the grass wall, hint of pink, modern furniture, minimalist decor and slow jams.
Any expansion means new opportunities. Denby wants to use her new space to host networking events, ladies nights, birthday parties and event rentals. This will require her to add a few more people to the Beautique Room beauty team. She is looking to hire a stylist, assistant and make-up artist.
“I just want to be a leader, not a boss. You can apply without a clientele. I’m really going to be looking at talent, the portfolio and personality.”
